Filecoin has been built as a decentralized storage network that turns cloud storage into an algorithmic market. The market runs on the the back of blockchain with its protocol token called the Filecoin which miners earn by providing storage to clients. Also, clients can spend Filecoin hiring miners to store and/or distribute their data.
